Detachable towbar, Volvo V40
This genuine detachable Volvo towbar has been specifically developed for the Volvo V40 and provides a safe and fully integrated solution for towing a trailer or caravan or fitting a suitable bicycle carrier.
The towbar has been specifically designed for the vehicle and extensively tested according to Volvo's stringent requirements for quality, safety and strength. A multi-stage surface treatment also provides excellent corrosion resistance.
When the towbar is not required, the towball section can easily be removed. The detachable towball is equipped with a lock to help protect it against theft. A matching fully covering protective cover can be used to neatly conceal the opening in the bumper when the towball is removed.
The set is supplied complete with the towbar, 13-pin wiring and trailer module. The trailer module supports trailers equipped with LED lighting, can store diagnostic trouble codes and can inform the driver of faulty trailer indicators and brake lights.
Note!
- The towbar has been tested for the maximum towing capacity and towball load, but these may be lower depending on the vehicle variant. For exact specifications, the vehicle variant must be checked and the vehicle owner's manual should be consulted.
- An adapter is required to connect trailers with a 7-pin plug; see "Towbar, adapter".
- A software download (application value €27.00) at a Volvo dealer is required for the correct operation of the accessory.
